A walkthrough example of the creation of one of the buildings done for critticage.

Isometric Walkthrough [part 2] : Prison Complex

Next, and on another new (bottom) layer I added a solid base to the image and used some regular isometric shading on it. The barbed wire layer was also (like the walls were) split into two layers. One for the back walls and one for the front walls.

Content with the walls for now, it was time to concentrate on the inner sections. Hiding the wall and barbed wire layers reveals just the base, and the central section of this was then concreted over.

On yet another new layer, some basic plan view areas were drawn out for the buildings.

Once satisfied with the spacing and layout, these were then extruded upwards and shaded as normal.

On a new layer, some roof lines were marked out and moved around a bit until they sat in the correct positions.
