Isometric Walkthrough [part 3] : Cartoon Style House
Ok, as the basic shape of the house has been done, it is now time for some decorations. First off, a door.

And the a window.

Maybe a few flowers climbing up the front wall.

At this point I felt that the roof needed something extra to break up the large area of plain thatching so I decided to add a roof window. Again, the first step is to sketch out the rough outline and get it in the right place. Doing this on a separate layer allows you not only to move it around freely to get it in the right spot, but it doesnt ruin any of your previous pixelling of the house which is its own layer (or layers) beneath.

Once happy with the shape and position, it is then block filled using the same shading rules as the rest of the house.

Textures are then added to it to match the rest of the building, and a window was put on the front. Note that the glass is lighter on this side of the building just as everything else is slightly lighter than the front face.
