I just recieved my Canon EOS 10D with 18-50 sigma lens. Oh its so sweet (though it could do with a better lens, but can't yet afford one as they're £500+)
Just wanted to tell someone May post pics from work tomorrow...

me too Anders, me too
D10 mkII is meant to be coming out within the next 6-months. But I figured, I wanted the camera now, its a good price, and all the kinks have been ironed out with several firmware upgrades.
Gonna take it to Honduras this summer... prepare for loads of photos
(for anyone that doesn't know, this is the 10D.

I generally take random shots. Things that look nice I do want to try and get out more though, especially now I don't need to worry about film.
I've put some photos I took today here:
http://pupius.co.uk/photos/general/cumbria/
The site isn't finished yet so I shouldn't really be showing it, but you can get in using username and password of "testing".
(note my mates, Simon and Joe, do look normal in real life, they're just not exactly photogenic... heh)

the speed on that stuff is amazing for motion, (& capturing the facial expressions of Simon n Joe lol)
How much memory do you carry?
Are you going to the Olympics this year? It'd be great to see what you'd turn up with in Athens.
Site looks awesome btw... esp the menu (release it~ heh)

thanks
I picked up a 256Mb card on saturday. That'll hold 100 large, fine JPEGs or 40 RAW files. I need to get some 512Mb cards, but they get pretty expensive for the high-speed versions. Which is a must, when you're saving 2.5Mb photos!
I'm off to Honduras this summer, working on a scientific expedition. So hopefully I'll get lots of cool photos there

I figured that a 2Gb card was putting too many eggs in one basket. Better to get a number of mid-sized cards than risk loosing several hundred photos. Also, I believe that as the cards get bigger the write time slows down.
In honduras I'm looking after the computer networks at the base camp (among other things) so will be able to missapropriate the DVD burners )

DVD burners.. are they really stable yet?
(this is getting really OT but...) my bro's been saying how I should wait a little while more until it becomes more stable. That and with the super DVD's coming out... I remember when CDburners first came out, my CD got a hole in it >< lol and investing the money on the DVDR(/W) is too much for my wee budgit.
Anymore pics to show? Take a picture of your shoe or work place, or self portrait! I don't go anywhere without my cam. ^^

Yeah DVD burners are fine. Mature technology now.
Will take some more random pics. Though I should be writing documentation for the next 5-days, so...

Ok, some snaps from my lunch break yesterday:
I need a theme or something to go and shoot. I was thinking of doing a landscape study this weekend of a crag in the Peak District. Got any ideas?

wow...man...looking at ur photos makes me want to run off and buy the camera for myself too (if i had enough$$)....really great quality photos...
i agree with dan too...on trips, u rather get several 256 or 512mb cards than one 1-2gb one....just in case anything happens (god forbid!), u won't lose all of ur pics...
i'm in china (yes..again!) now...so hopefully will get a chance to go out and shoot something...hehe
jooli, show us more pics from ur cam!!!!
