Nice link Mark.

Jooli: we have a big park behind our work (the only advanage of working 8.5miles from home). As the weather's stunning I've been going there on my lunch break.

Hey Anders. No I rewrote it from scratch. The site works basically like this:

Folders can have one of the following controllers:
- directory listings (example)
- info listings (example)
- thumbnails (example)
- CMS inline content (example)
- Included content (example)
- External content (example)
- (more to come)

Files all have a preview command:
- image preview
- zip file preview
- (more to come for .url, .js, .phps, .pdf etc.)

Images can have thumbnail and resize commands applied to them:

Thats it at the moment, need to do some more work. Turned out to be a big job

is the image manipulation built into php, or do you need third party add-ons?

is the quality of the image resize-function as good as photoshop?

cheers, james

PHP often comes with the "GD" graphic libraries installed. GD1 never had a resample function only resize. I wrote a bicubic resampler but it was bloody slow and maxed out the server CPU. With GD2 you get the resample function and it's really good quality (for reductions anyway).

Compare these two images:
Resized to 600x400
Original - 1024x683

Checkout my Image Manipulator Class. There's no preview but you can download it.

pixiegal: thanks, and yeah I would love that SO MUCH. But alas, I'm no where near good enough......yet I have a gig next winter taking photos at a series of snowboard competitions, I don't get paid but get 3-free trips to the Alps. So that'll be sweet.

PS. I haven't seen your site in a while and am liking it a lot, especially the monochrome background images on the left.

I've not been very successful recently. I haven't actually had much of a chance, 'cause I've been so busy, and those that I have taken I've not been very happy with
