Reconstruct

Hey guys, havent posted in a while but figured I'd try to get back into the swing of things.

I did this image to sell as 20 x 20 prints (have sold about 3 or 4 thus far).

Critiques & Comments welcome

If you're interested in purchasing a 20 x 20 print on canvas, please email at joe@nicklomedia.com Price is $45 + shipping. I can also do smaller sizes and different paper stocks.

Thx

i don't like the angled horizon, i prefer if it was horizontal.

other than that very nice, how to you make the main texture in the background??

now how interesting would it be if it were at a normal, plain, boring angle jim?

i made the texture in 2 steps.

one, was a photoshop brush that I made by scanning in a sheet of sketch book paper that had been folded a few times. Then placed that brush on a new layer, set to multiply.

underneath the brush layer i made a layer entirely filled with white (any color will do) and did a pattern overlay via layer effects and set it to multiply as well.

Adjusted opacity as needed.

oo that was exactly what I was about to say;
That and, 'a new world' seems a little off and out of place in the means of placement and typography selected.

i would agree with the above comments about the bird's wings and the font and placement of "a new world".. also i think there's a small dark region (may be there purpsosefully, who knows..) at the top of the sun. i think that could go.

other than that, i really like it. excuse the idiocy, but when you say 20x20, you're talking about inches right?

yes, of course i mean 20" x 20"

i'll be fixing the birds.

i noticed the dark spot and its due to the paper texture, prob gonna fix that with the clone stamp or healing tool.

i feel the typography is in the best spot possible, i tried several positions and where its at now seemed to me to work best.

thanks for the suggestions everyone
